I'm very glad that this worked out for you. Albeit a royal pain in the ****!!
Now it's time for a tuner from Paul!!
Mine has been ok for almost a 9 months with the x-cal.
Let me know if you put those 02 struts on. I put kyb's on the front of mine and it rides like shit. My rears are blown out so I need to replace them soon.

after 500 miles

I had to make a longish drive yesterday (@ 500 miles).
Texas is a big state and sometimes very flat. Initially everything was as described above (good). I found that after some sustained high speed,80~100 mph for @ 20~25 miles the 2-3 shift was harsh once more.
I don't know if it was the temp sender giving info to the ecm and shifting adjustments being made or if it was simply the new fluid thinning out a bit but that harshness is still there...just as bad as before. The rest of the tranny characteristics are just fine. I don't know if I should plan on pulling the vb and getting it replaced (will do so if there is a good chance that will 'fix' the 2-3 shift) or if I need to try to live with it.
Opinions of those in the know would be appreciated.

I got the '96-'97 SHO separator plate yesterday fro FPN. The SHO one (15) has an extra hole compared to the '98-'99 (05) separator plate. This maybe due to the different valve bodies. I'll see if I can get one of the '96-'97 ones out of the two carcasses I have and compare.
