FORD is charging $100 CDN for the ATF fluid change (reasonable)... however they offered to use "Terra Clean" to flush/clean it all out for an extra $60.... is this necessary and/or worth the money?? or is a simple drain and refill all i need? Its the first time im changing the fluid and im at 65,000 miles. Thank you in advance!

I would go for it IF the trans filter were easily replaceable. But it's not. You have to crack the trans case in half to get to it. Just keep refreshing the fluid regularly. Should be good enough.

thanks for the prompt reply... does this mean i dont need a new trans filter every time i do a drain/refill? which in my case will be after every 60,000 miles.

You cannot access the trans filter. You literally have to remove the trans. I would just cycle 5 in and 5 out of ATF for the next 4 oil changes. Then do it every other oil change after.

I was going to change my trans, PTU and RDU. All with Amsoil, but the mention of being in colder weather and Amsoil being thicker concerns me. Wouldn't just be when the motor and trans are cold and not at operating temps? I always remote start my car on cold days before I drive it. But I will obviously have some situations that I can't prestart it so in that case, I will drive like a grandma.

Is there a way to get all of the fluid out?

In my previous car With help starting and turning the car off I did it by removing the coolant line where it enters the rad and run it until the line dropped the pressure (the first hint of the sound of air in the line cut the engine off) measure the amount that came out and then add that amount to trans. Then repeat but instead of waiting for the air sound I cut it off when the amount of fluid that came out on the first drain. Did it until all of the fluid that needed to go in the car is in it.

It was for 2010 Volo S80 and i found the process on the Sweedspeed forum.

I've searched on here but only found 5 out 5 in and overfill by 1 quart.

FYI my car has 14K on it.
