Oh, and here's the other added bonus with these rims. There's plenty of space in there, in case you ever decide to go with really massive front brakes (i.e. Brembo Cobra R 4-piston calipers).

Clearance

Look how much extra room there is even with the PBR calipers in place! :hyper:

Wow thats seriously a selling point for me. I had pbr's on bandito and it wasnt good enough for me. This is very interesting. Im assuming when you bought these wheels you just did the search on a gen3 sho right?

more rubber, more HP.....
I took a measurement of the clearance between the rotor and the spoke. A whopping 66 mm, and this is on the 17" rim. You only need 50 mm clearance to fit the 4-piston Brembo calipers, according to the link. That's more than enough room!!

Ozclear

Decisions, decisions!!! :woohoo:

P.S. Regarding clearance issues, I have been able to fit 255-40's on the 17x8 version of this rim, with about 0.5 cm clearance between the tire/strut and tire/rear fender on my Gen 1. Trimmed rear fender, that is. I'm almost sure 265's will fit with a little grinding away of material.

P.P.S. You won't believe how good those 255's felt in the turns!!! :partytime:

After looking at the volvo setup versus the gen3 sho on tirerack, i see they also make this in a 17x8 rim. I really dig the 18s but good grief these things arent cheap! The borbet 5 spokes can be had in 18s as well and look very similar for about half the price. the are 7.5's though That is tempting. They sure would look good on the 245k miles sho im looking at :naughty:

If the 16x8's I ordered come out ok, and if Kumho comes out with the size(s) I need for the V710 (anticipated announcement at the SEMA show early November), I might actually let go of these 18x8's at a very, very substantial discount from the retail price.

I'm just lookin for some 17s :D

FWIW, I did see that OZ made those wheels in a black finish. They should be available in any bolt pattern, no?

I have some 17x8" MM II's here. I just weighed them at 22.5 pounds. So Ill end up going with the 16's for track wheels.
