Made the last auto-x of the season. Got my old man to come out in his 96 M3. His first time ever; my 4th. We have the same tires and he has bilstein shocks and lowering springs. Me koni's/eibachs, quaife, 4-*** wilwoods, and ALSFB. I beat him YAY!!! but it was close

Here the final results. https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/files/SJRSCCA/2010 points 8_fin.htm

My first 3 runs I ran way to hard. Came in way to hot and the front tires said NOPE! ran three 64's. Then I had an instructor drive the car. Helped alot as I noticed my brake points being different. He also said the ABS is "iffy" and I knew wat he was talking about. He ran a 62.something. I then ran my 4th run and improved a 1 sec to a 63.9. So then I deicded the abs was annoying me and I decided to unplugg them for the last run. It definatly helped, as the brakes were so much more.....predictable( it wasnt "ok this time Ill come on and not this time which is wat the abs seemed to do.) I improved 1.7 seconds to a 62.2...equal or beating the instructors time. (my goal after riding with him). I am definalty happy with the cars perforance as any car under 60 seconds had r-comps or wider sticker x-teme summer tires (star specs, ect)

Lesson of the day.

TIRES TIRES TIRES. My car needs lots more front tire and I need more seat time. :) But I definatly pushed the tires too much lol. And unplugging the ABS makes a big difference. (with my brakes anyways)

Congrats! Tires are a big help. I picked up some star specs and had to learn how to redrive my car due to the extra grip. How do you like the Koni/Eibach set up?

I like them alot. But these shocks have over 120k on them now. and they still feel stiff. So for longevity of the koni's is great!! I assume new(er) ones will be a tad stiffer.

No, He runs the white car in Auto-X.

Star Specs...they are calling you...

Also, I can't stand not having ABS for Auto-X. It's never bothered me because honestly I don't touch the brakes hard enough for them to even begin to think about using the ABS. If your mashing down on the brake pedal hard enough for the ABS to kick in you might wan't to work on being a bit smoother with your Brake/Throttle inputs. Just some input!

There are only a few courses where I REALLY have been on the brakes and I braked VERY late (Very fast courses with 65-70 MPH speeds)...That's where the ABS helps.

Good runs regardless.
