Auto windows

hey all, i cant believe i can auto open/down my windows and vent sunroof , but cant do the opposite, auto close/up when locking, guess ford says maybe u will leave your sunroof open when it rains and bring in for repairs. Did not happen just sayin if anything they should close auto when ya lock it lol. Huh lol

Global open I believe is what your speaking of with the fob?

The reason you can't on this car is all the windows are not smart, meaning they don't all have one touch open and close. The BCM sends a signal to the roof opening panel motors, the driver and passenger door modules for a global open request. The back windows can't monitor window position do. This is the job of the door module to watch the position of the motor through a hall effect sensor. On the express down there is no real logic needed as there is no harm in opening, but if the window closes it needs to detect obsitcals such as children's arms. It's more cost effective to not have this feature I guess.

We can't have all the bells and whistles of a Lincoln otherwise there would be no selling point of a MKS. But now that the MKS is dead we may see more features in the SHO.

I do miss the one touch up and down windows on my jetta though. It's the small things I guess.

My question is why i can auto open with fob when unlocking but cant auto close when locking lol ,,, i fully understand what your sayin, i wasnt referring to the one touch up/down of fronts and sunroof. You would think with rain sensing wipers it would be able to close ye ole sunroof or at least honk the ole horn if i try and lock with windows open lol which it will let me do , but it will park itself lol

IIRC from days long gone the lack of auto close is an attempt to reduce the employment opportunities for lawyers in the US. The BMW 850 initial models in '90/91 had Global close but Liability in the US made it vanish on the first refresh circa '92MY.
However the auto speed close still closed the front windows @96 mph driving track day guys nuts because the windows are supposed to be down.

How do you open all your windows w/ the key fob? I have turned this setting on but assumed it opened them when you did the remote start, like when it kicks the fan & seats on. But clearly that is not the case. I need a sync & SHO goodies tutorial.

If you set up a sync my ride account you can download a digital copy of the owners manual and watch videos.

Or just press and hold the unlock button till the windows roll down after you unlock the car. Press the button again to stop the windows I believe.

My 2010 sho has auto up and down windows. If you auto up and try to hold it down it will reverse and go down

I hear ya Hutch1, the auto I'm referring to is , say I leave a widow down or sunroof open, then lock vehicle with fob it would be nice if it would automatically close them or at least honk horn to alert me
