auto vs manual console

i just found a treasure at a u pull. A black 93 console but it is from a automatic. I converted one before and it is currently in my sho and I have no problems with it. So I found another one once and converted it and sold it to someone and they bitched about it cuz they said the shifter hit it in second gear. Anyone ever had this problem? I'm thinking he must have had a gen one that originally came with a cable shifter and he cut his hole off center.

I had an ATX piece and I hit when going into 2nd or reverse. It worked but was not perfect.

the top insert piece has a narrower opening in the atx, so it can hit at times. the rest of the console is the same.

all i did was installed the console without the boot and used a dremel to grind it down till it didnt hit any more took all of 20 mins
