So I've notice my driver side rear view mirror always has a blueish tint with a rim around the edge at all times even during the day and my passenger side mirror doesn't have any color difference but doesn't dim. Is this normal? My driver side which has the blue color does dim automatically and the passenger one doesn't dim at all. Are they both supposed to dim or have this blueish color? I read the manual but it doesn't explain anything bout the blueish tint or the dimming.

Yeah the blueish tint is the dimming part. Only the driver side mirror is auto dimming though, for whatever reason.

Ok cool thank you. It was bothering me a lot that the passenger one didn't work but now I know.

What is the normal behavior for the exterior dimming mirrors? Mine seem to be acting weird, sometimes they dim correctly when it's dark and there are bright lights in the mirror, other times they don't. If I open the car door while the car is on, it blacks out.

The drivers exterior mirror is controlled by the interior rear view mirror. If the interior is dim the exterior should dim.

All sensors are in the internal rear view mirror. There is one looking forward. One looking rear. If the interior mirror sees a lot of light from the rear and not a lot from the front it will dim. It will also send power to the driver exterior mirror to dim. If you open the door and it dims you have a short.

It may be my excessive tint then. I bought the car used and it has what I think is 2% tiny. Definitely cannot see inside the car at all unless it's pitch black outside and there's lights on inside the car.
