How do I tell when my tranny is starting to go?

I have a 94 ATX with 170,000 km on it (Canadian car)

I think the tranny is kinda slipping but I can't be sure... I've never had a tranny issue before so I don't know what I'm looking for

Any insight?

has it been serviced often? fluid and filter changed on time? is it original???
pull your engine codes first, it will point out some faults. i could possibly be a VSS problem, that will make the tranny shift wrong.

ATX sho's are pretty well known for slipping issues , alot of ppl put ALOT of money in the rebuilding of their atx , and still slips after 2 years....depending on how rough you are with your car...depending on who rebuilt it.
