ATX speed sensor, can't find

While replcaing the ATX in the '94 taurus the small speed sensor right by the drivers side axle broke off. all the parts stores, even napa, hand me a MECHANICAL speed sensor and this one appears to be magnetic. any one have a part number or a better description of this parts, like 'ring gear speed sensor' etc. thanks, Corey

Sounds like your talking about the ABS speed sensor. There is one at each wheel. Both fronts are the same(R&L). the stores are likely trying to sell you VSS speed sensor which is located on the transmission. Try asking for an ABS sensor.

The TSS (Transminssion Speed Sensor) is located on the drivers side behind the wheel well. The VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is located on the passenger side behind the engine. The TSS can only be purchased from a dealer or an online shop like www.rockauto.com

that sensor can be had at a local tranny shop for peanuts man they never go bad they should have tons laying around. it is a input sensor. did you get it out of the hole yet ?? if so your lucky

I'll check my local tranny shops this or the next weekend. thanks for the sweet tip. I got it out alright, my tranny was rebuilt like 10K ago and everything is clean and clear.
