Ok I got the bottom pan gasket and filter changed. The bolts were really loose. :oogle: (no wonder I had a river of fluid) :omg:
So now Im ready to tackle the side pan. I did a few searchs didnt come up with much after reading 2 pages of threads. Well I need to know how to get to the side pan. I was told removing the drivers wheel and wheel well should do it. Any input? ALso is there fluid behind the side pan? I mean do I nd to pick up more tranny fluid and drain some of it before removing the side pan?
Next up are the O2's.

Thx Peeps

if you are not rebuilding the transmission you do not remove the side pan, there is fluid in there but is all falls to the bottom pan when you dropped the bottom pan. by just dropping the bottom pan you are only draining about 1/2 of the trannies fluid capicity, it is reccomended that you dlush the tranny rather than just dropping the pan, but it is certaintly better than noting.

the bolts are not soposto be that tight, the tq is less than 20 ftlb, so just snug them up with a 1/4" ratchet, drive it and check for leaks. (important because tranny fluid is flamable and you don't want a bunch of it on your exhaust). when I dropped my pan when I first bought my car it took 7 quarts of fluid to refill it.

Well the side pan is leaking alittle thats why I want to change the gasket. When I said the bolts were loose I meant finger loose. Over half of them weren't even snug. I only got 2 1/2 2 liters of fluid out of it on the drain. But it had been leaking fluid everywhere (a river).
Thx for the info. Ill buy more tranny fluid when I get ready to change the side gasket.
I got both 02 senors in today too. PITA is the understatement of the year for the rear o2 sensor(I went over the top to get it). And man I got a big arm too.
