My 3.2 SHO would not shift after coming to a stop at a light today. I drove it a few blocks moving the shift lever between Drive and 2ND, but with no help. I pulled over and had it towed back home. Once home I checked for codes. None were found. After a few hours, I drove the car around the neighborhood and it shifted fine. The transmission fluid looks and smells good. How do I fix this problem with no stored faults?

I would check the range senser, huh... almost sounds like it's getting ready to bite the dust! Maybe somebody with this same problem will chime in..

I am not sure what going on with this tranny. It seems as if it is a sensor problem, but every sensor I know of is suppose to generate a fault code if it goes bad. I guess the first step is to go over the wiring and look for any damage. Other than that, I am not sure what else I can do. Maybe I try changing the transmission fluid.

sounds like time for a rebuid, the same thing happened to me it worked fine could(transmission fluid was thicker) and when up to temp it would not shift(fluid is thinner) turned out to be a hairline crack in one of the pistions which was allowing fluid threw.
