What's the difference between an MTX SHO and an ATX SHO? And how can I tell which one I have?

only fun my MTX ever gave me was broken axles, expensive weak clutches, two broken transaxles even after an HD rebuild and of course the fun of a 3.2 swap just to have the largest SHO displacement available....

granted the ATX has had to have the tranny rebuilt once but outlasted the clutch and ultimately two trannys over the MTX.... I love them both and the MTX I had was a good car but given the money I'll take my atx.. just my .02

I had 2 Atx's still have one about to touch 190k original motor/trans and it still keeps me happy. I love my Mtx but its a gen 1 and those are the best lol

In my experience the ATX's give a deeper and louder engine noise.

I love all these noobs that have shown up as of late that think they know it all.....

Werd...

I like to lurk and learn before I go spouting my mouth.. now, there is some uncorrected information out there.. but if you dig deep enough you'll find the gold. :)

see thats the thing about spouting out info.. i could care less. im just keeping the SHO togther until i can afford the swap. i dont care about a differential goin out because i have no interest in it the taurus is limited the drivetrain and layout of it isnt for an engine like this the only thing my 95 has got goin for it is its alright aerodynamics thats about it. i just need to get it running and have it last a few more years then boom that bodys bye bye

So why do you own one? seems you only have a negative view.... and the drive train is fine for "this engine"... you speak like you have a 800 horse alcohol eating top fuel big block under the hood.... its a 220 horse DOHC v6, just happens to be produced by Yamaha. As for being "limited", you're only limited by two things, wallet & know how.... and don't forget you started the smart-ass commenting yourself .."well you can tell cuz the MTX is fun and the ATX sucks and is boring to drive" <----- from this comment I would assume you are very young, have no experience and probably came by owning an SHO by chance or because it was a "good deal" at the time....... dont care lol i merely said i dont care about learning simply why your differential goes out, if people need help im willing to help so get it all stright buddy and 2 why own it? simple... the engine.... the variable length intake manifold and the tanks work the same as the acis system found in supras it regulates compression pulses created by the turbo, centrifugal charger for a smoother and higher velocity flow it responds better than most vehicles to forced induction and ontop of that open up the secondaries while a turbo is spooled up itll easily take all of it no problem. take a sequential turbo setup run a smaller twin scroll for low end with the manifolds itll make alot of low end power and when a smaller one will cut off at about 4k thats where your second turbo comes in and starts to wind up for the real top end power the engine was made for. with such a high powerband and rev limit you can keep a turbo spooled up easily and be a highend monster. but ina FWD heavy sedan low end power and performance is limited thats why ima swap it into a firebird when i get the money, great aerodynamics, lighter( and even lighter by the time im done with it) rwd so better launch and low end control also firebird are popular so a wide variety of option available for me to chose from( lighten the car, create less rotating weight, better aero less drag). Also its not that i dont care about it sorry for wording that wrong i do care because its my car but to me its not worth trying to fix up/ restore the body when itll be swapped into a superior body with more potential for the engine. you completly misunderstand me im willing to help but i dont care when people wanna try and belittle me acting all big and bad because they know somthing about a car thats 20 yrs old. what happened to others i could care less its not my business but if they have a question yes i will help if i can but i dont know a whole lot about the yamaha 3.0l. this is the first v6 ive owned let alone with an import eninge that runs off of backpressure and vaccum lines. more use to efi/carb v8s but this is an impressive engine so i wanna use it but i dont know everything about it
