atx failure

i have located a pristine 94 sho atx is is blue with grey leather every option for the year 1994 has 87 ,000 miles on it and has had all services done including 60, ooo mile tune. a doctor owned the car and kept perfect care of it. the tranny will shift into reverse and work fine but wont go into any forward gear, he donated it to an animal shelter as a fundraiser.i got car for 700 bucks. would anyone know what could be causing this tranny to work in a r gear but not any forward ones or could it be maybe something simple. any help would be great and or is there a ford recall on the atx trannys for the year 1994?

It just sounds like it need a new or rebuilt tranny. There is no recall on the trannys. Nice find for the money though! Spend a couple of grand and it sounds like you will be still far ahead of the game and have a nice SHO.
