I get alotta feedback through my stereo and when I come to an idle sometimes the stereo almost dies out. I have another alternator I'm gonna replace it with but I have a question before I do. Do I need to remove that pulley blocking the one bolt on the bottom of the alternator?

you do NOT need to remove the pulley. i do recommend removing the battery tray and battery for ease of sticking your hands in there. but i was easily able to get mine out without removing any pulleys. may take a little straining but you can do it. a big handled 3/4 inch ratchet will aid you greatly.

something else to think about though is are you running a stock or aftermarket stereo? if youre running aftermarket are you running amp wires by any speaker wires? that would certainly give you interference in the speakers and it would spare you from having to replace your alternator.

it seems unlikely that the alternator would be the cause of this problem, but its not impossible by any means. let us know how it goes.

I took it the Batteries Plus next to my work today and had them check it. They said it's holdin' a charge just fine and it's all good. I had a charger on the battery for about 45 min before I left for work and it started without the boost. Started fine when I left work after they had charged it. I plan on replacin' the alternator tomarrow. Can I check the alternator with a multimeter? I've had the alternator I'm puttin' in checked by Checker and they said it's puttin' out a study 13.4v

im sure you can check the alternator with a multimeter, but im not sure where else you could put a meter other than the battery but im sure a search would turn that up. i think you have the car running you can check to see where the battery is charging at. it should be up around 14.5V i think. if not then somethings wrong. but do a search and double check my numbers.
