Hey Fellas;

I've got a set of 15" Borbet Alloys on my 95 ATX and am thinking of upgrading to the 96 brake kit this summer. I had heard a rumor that the 96 upgrade kit will only work with the 16" rims, (maybe because the rotors are larger?) I was wondering if anyone had an answer on that.

Also, I think my rims have taken a beating over the years and are warped. I noticed when I took my snow tires off that I was getting a smoother ride out of them than I am from my summers, (If you can believe that).

Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix that? Maybe somewhere I can send them to or should take them?

Thanks,

Timmy

The '96 upgrade will not work with 15" wheels. They barely clear the 16" slicers.

If your wheels are bent, you might want to look into replacing them.

Thanks Autosho, that's what I thought.

I'm doing such a large over-haul this summer that I will probably just go ahead and buy a parts car and rip the 16" slicers off of that car and ditch the borbets since they are becoming more hassle than they are worth.

Thanks for the tips,

Timmy

Check The PSI and Balancing on you summer tires

should check air pressure once a month

and rebalance wheels every 6000 mi

Yeah, when I had my inspection done I had my mechanic put my summers back on because he was having trouble doing my alignment with my winter rims. He checked pressure and balanced them, but even so, when the car gets up to 65 there is noticeble vibration in the drivers seat (sort of like a massage feature that shouldn't be there :D ). But when I get up to betwen 70-80mph we're talking full movement of the dash. I mean the sucker shakes uncontrollably. It's actually been happening for quite sometime but now it's the worst ever. I had thought maybe warped rotors or something in the past, but if that was it, wouldn't I get the same vib's with the winter tires? I don't know. I'm doing a lot of work to my sho this summer now that college is finally over and I can afford it, so I'm hoping with all the stuff I will be changing, I will eventually find the problem. But if you guys have any suggestions, I'm listening.

Timmy
