Are the redesigned Ford inner tie rods removable?

Help!
I went to replace my driver side inner tie rod and after I removed the bellows and tryed to use the Autozone removal tool. I found that I have a tie rod with inaccessable flats. The A-Z socket wont fit over the flair and the connection doesnt have a rivet. I found the Lisle model #45750 tool that says it will work, but it costs $50.00 and Im wondering if the locktite that holds the tie rod on the steering rack will prevent me from removing it. I'd hate to spend that much money on a tool that I cant return and may not work. I ran searches but found nothing stating whether this type of inner tie rod was removable or the reliability of the Lisle removal tool. I saw the article in shotimes but it barely mentions the redesigned tie rod end.
Thanks in advance for any help
Steve

The new inner tie rods that I installed (purchased from AZ) on my 89 had an very small allen head stop screw to prevent it from coming loose; this my be your problem. They definitly should be removable!

btw - what do you mean by "inaccessable flats"?

No such allen screw,or rivet and the socket where the joint connects is larger in diameter than the hex flats so the auto zone loaner tool cant reach the hex flats like the it can with the moog or other tie rods that Ive seen.

Well I finished reading all the 225 matches for the inner tie rod and found 2 or 3 references to Ford's redesigned OEM inner tie rod, and one mentioning the PITA removal so I guess I got my answer.
$50.00 for a tool to remove a 15.00 part :madflame:
Just in case there's any other unfortunate members who find that they have this G-D tierod installed on their sho apparently the removal tool is only available if you special order it for 51.50 plus shipping at Auto Zone, Snap on or various places online, as mentioned above its a Lisle model # 45750.
