Are all MTX 3.0s from 89 to 95 interchangeable? Doing a swap

My 94 MTX SHO died from crank cancer. I found an 89 with 60k miles on it for a grand. Would I have to do any major mods, or is the 89 engine basically plug and play in my 94?

Yes all mtx's are the same

Engine wiring harnesses will be different. The motor is the same, but the alternator and its associated brackets and wiring is different too.

kevinspann is correct - there are some things you will need to swap over (alternator and wiring harness) but you can use it.
