Got some scars on the back from previous owner. Wondering if anyone knows whether or not a body shop could repair these, or if I’d be looking at a new bumper/trunk?

Is that metal or plastic? I think most of that is repairable. It reall depends on what you want at the end. Getting stuff perfect and blending repaint can get expensive if you are super picky but that would be true with other replacement parts. Really it depends on how an-al you want to be. If you just want it to not look like as$ and be presentable-- get a good reference and a quote. Good body and paint folks are like really good mechanics and dentists. Find someone that does really good work and stay with them

The trunk is metal, and if I had to guess, is definitely doable, the bumper feels like plastic, I just wasn’t sure about those gouges on the bumper. I also have a lot of chips in the paint just from driving, and plan to have it all fixed eventually. Much to my own shame, I was considering going to a dealer for the paint work, because I’m assuming they would be able to get the paint right, since it’s theirs. I know there can be a lot of shades of the same color, but it’s my understanding the smoked quartz is a pretty uncommon color, so hopefully it wouldn’t be too crazy. That being said, the internet says dealership body work techs are pretty much sub par across the board, so I’ll have to shop around. This will be down the line, as after I get the shocks and struts/ball joints and various bushings done, all money will be going towards bolt ons…and another set of wheels haha. It’s riding fine, but I’m at 64k so they gotta be getting tired.

I did find a place with a good rep to handle the paint less dent repair. Just for the small little “dents” on the lines or “creases” (if that makes sense) of the car, so maybe I can have them recommend a shop.

Yeah you have to network to find the right people. I never had to get the whatever the polymer material cladding is repaired. I assume there are fillers for everything but again I only have experience with the metal repair/repaint. Unfortunately there is damage at the crease or edge but I think that is doable.
