Bad fitment over the spark plugs. When it rained, water would get in the plug wells. I like the Taylor's because they snap in, and you get a good seal.

Ironically, the only time I installed taylors, I wasn't happy with the way they seated. However, Jerry has never mentioned any problems since then.

When re-using the steel intake gaskets, I clean them with brake cleaner, then spray them with flat black paint. Haven't ever had one leak yet.

did you not have a hood on your car when it rained?
I had the same problem during a trip from NYC to Boston in torrential rain the whole way. #6 was filled to the brim with water. 4 and 5 weren't far behind.

Yup, like Hamals' experience, mine is exacerbated by the cowl hood which literally dumps buckets of water directly on top of the engine while driving in the rain. I've since fashioned foam plugs which stay in the cowl hood 99% of the time.

I have OEM Motorcraft wires awaiting install, but am curious to hear your review of the Bosch set.

Well I changed the plugs and wires, and Id say 4 of the wells were just about full with oil, I cant believe this thing was running. It was running rough for awhile last night but now after the change its back firing light but constant, and the secondairies arent opening. The fire order seems to be correct, I searched them here.Im concerned that I put the autolight copper, the coldest ones in there i believe they end in 22 or 23 And im afraid they might not be best.the dis is missing one screw but nice and tight against.Do the hose,s for the 2ndaires, the y, do they have to be a certain way? This intakes is off of my other car so its been sitting in the garage and it was clean for the most part.where else should i be looking? Also the fitment of the a.z. wires is not to shabby.I also gapped the plugs about .44,Anyone help, I knew this was going to happen thats why I put this off for so long!I also sucked almost all the oil from the wells before removing old plugs.

I have a set on the way - will let you know how they work/fit.

I installed the Bosch wires over the weekend (along w/valve cover and intake gaskets, serpentine belt & plugs). The lengths are a bit strange but nothing was too short and they seem to fit in the plug wells and onto the coil just fine. I've had no problems so far. :thumb:

If the secondaries are not opening, check behind the intake for loose wires or vacuum lines. The small black vacuum cylinder clipped to the intake is for the secondaries. Make sure it didn't get unplugged or cracked or anything.

I recently bought a set of AutoZone's in-house brand (the box said ultra-spark, but AZ labels them as duralast), and I have no complaints at all. Fitment is great, construction is great, they look really good, and they were cheap($40.. but I payed $20  ).
I'm running Autolite 3923's, just FYI.

That was only a week ago, so we'll see how they last.

Sorry to bring one back from the dead but...

Just wondering if anyone had any feedback on these Bosch wires after some time. How have they held up? Need new wires but can't afford $100+ (currently unemployed). $50 is a stretch but do-able. Anyway...Thanks.

BTW, the Accel wires are crap. Less then 30k and they are shot. Never did fit quite right either.

i have run the wires for 2 years and have removed them plenty of times, never had any trouble. i will never buy expensive ones again. honestly they seem to better quality than the $80.00 autolite professsionals i put on my 95.
