Hey everyone, I've been away for a few years now and I thought I would poke the thread and see if anyone was out there. I have been spending time with my 1989 F150, for the last two years but the time has come to turn my attention back to my SHO. Anyway if there is anyone in the area still out here say Hi.

hey from the beach. Back in school (at an old age) and my '93 is sidelined with an airbag system issue. Driving an f150 daily as well. I think the area club has dissipated over the years. I used to run into **** every once in a blue moon and he used to be active. No idea what he is up to lately

Good to hear I'm not alone out here, I assume there are some more folks lurking around somewhere. Lets try and check in here from time to time, maybe by the time it gets warm again we will have enough for a coffee run or something.

- In the meantime, I know you guys are not Gen4 but I'm looking for someone to service my PTU, which basically means vacuuming out the old oil and pouring in the new. The shop who I take all my business to has decided its to much of a pain in the a**, so much for customer loyalty. If anyone knows of a shop in the area let know. Hope everyone is well.

I have no idea. I used to have a good local shop years ago but they sold out and haven't got a great one yet. Drill that hole brother.

**** If I could drill and tap a PTU while it was in the car I wouldn't need someone to service it. I know what needs to be done but somehow I usually ***** it up when I try and do it myself.

My one wish is I could work with my hands, but I just don't have the temperament, I wish I knew how many 15 minute jobs ended yo getting towed to the shop.

What part of the 757 are you in? There might be a speed shop that has a decent rep to do that. I would look at Protime Automotive on Haygood Rd. The owner was a former service manager at Ford dealers back in the day. I know if the same head tech is at Protime Automotive he is good. I forget his name but it is very Italian. I had his brother (Luigi) and a guy from a ford dealership that were techs at the second Protime shop (that was eventually sold). The Italian dudes are a family of auto repair guys that are very good. Their father works at a place on Bonney Rd. I forget the name.

If I was close by I would stop in and ask them about the service and see if you think they are up to doing it correctly. If you look at the recent DIY vid posted it's not an easy stick a hose in there and get the old stuff out. Has to make it's way to the bottom or superfill with exchange to get the old stuff out. I'm looking at some other specialty shops to see if they might be able to instal a drain. I'm sure no one wants the liability of a first time drill and tap gone awry.

Poking around I would also really consider Affordable Transmission and Engine Exchange in Chesapeake. They do t-ranny (can't believe I can't type this on a car board) work and have a high reputation for honesty. Sounds like a good place to start. That part of Chesapeake is a small stretch of Indian River between military highway and the old Ford plant on the Norfolk side. You really can't expect most folks to understand this service vs regular trans/diif empty and fill. If you can get a drain plug installed somewhere, even better. Maybe a Lincoln service will do this. You tried all the Ford dealer service depts around?

You are so freaking right, where I used to have it done always gave me grief because they hated doing it. So I have looked around before and most places just look at me like I'm crazy.

Anyway Thank You very much for looking around for me, she is going in for some paint work and a few other things next week. I will try and figure it out when she gets home. My down pipes are ceramic coated, and there is not that much mileage on the current oil so it should be fine for awhile.
