$200 is a good price for the Eibachs. The going rate seems to be $219. Though some of the discount vendors are selling them higher than that. It's just like shopping for groceries. Do you buy all at one store for convenience or do you comparison shop?
I think I can do better than the $110 per strut at a local (well, fairly local) shop in Milpitas that Robby gave me the link for. I'll have to double check the price that Robby told me he paid for his. The advantage to going local is that they can handle any warranty claims. Not that it's likely, the Tokicos are extremely reliable, more so than the Konis it seem (or maybe Koni owner just abuse their struts on the track more than Tokico owners shrug ) But occasionally one does go bad and need a warranty replacement.
But it's not a big deal to buy them from an established out of the area vendor or even a fly by night vendor. If for some reason you can't deal with your vendor for a warranty claim (they went out of business, they're just not cooperative, you lie (
) and say your vendor won't help you when really it's just because they're across the country and you don't want to deal with them) then Tokico will handle your warranty claim directly. And from what I've heard they do a fine job of that.
Now how the **** am I going to get some Eibachs for $200 from O'Reilly's?
