Now that powergarage isn't responding to e-mails, on top of the mixed reports on their current pricing, does anybody know where I can get some Tokico's for fairly cheap?

How about a set of new Eibachs? :D

You can always go with shox.com. They are selling the Tokicos for $119 each, which isn't to bad of a price. I think that I will have to go this route when I purchase my rear Tokicos so I can finish buying my suspension goodies. thumb

$200 is a good price for the Eibachs. The going rate seems to be $219. Though some of the discount vendors are selling them higher than that. It's just like shopping for groceries. Do you buy all at one store for convenience or do you comparison shop?

I think I can do better than the $110 per strut at a local (well, fairly local) shop in Milpitas that Robby gave me the link for. I'll have to double check the price that Robby told me he paid for his. The advantage to going local is that they can handle any warranty claims. Not that it's likely, the Tokicos are extremely reliable, more so than the Konis it seem (or maybe Koni owner just abuse their struts on the track more than Tokico owners shrug ) But occasionally one does go bad and need a warranty replacement.

But it's not a big deal to buy them from an established out of the area vendor or even a fly by night vendor. If for some reason you can't deal with your vendor for a warranty claim (they went out of business, they're just not cooperative, you lie (

) and say your vendor won't help you when really it's just because they're across the country and you don't want to deal with them) then Tokico will handle your warranty claim directly. And from what I've heard they do a fine job of that.

Now how the **** am I going to get some Eibachs for $200 from O'Reilly's?

Unless you're sold on the Eibach, here is a link to they guys I bought my Intrax from:

Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33582&item=2418103489

They were great to deal with. I had a shipping problem (fault of UPS not putting them on the truck) and they responded to e-mails and phone calls.

I was in the same situation as you not knowing which struts to go with, but I'm sold on the Tokico's even though it raised my budget a bit will quite a bit thumb

I am sold on Eibachs for me personally. But that's a great price for Intrax. I've seen a few other vendors offer them for a similar price on ebay. Thanks for posting that one though. It's good to know that he's a good guy to work with!

There's nothing wrong with going with Tokicos and Intrax. In fact if you want maximum drop without going to coilovers that is what you should do. I'd like a bit more of a drop than the Eibachs provide, but really I'm fine with what they do give.

That's the thing, I don't want ANY drop really.

I wouldn't mind having the front dropped, but the back is WAAAY low.

I'm not so hot on lowering, I jsut want better handling.

I just bought Eibachs from tirerack and Tokicos from shox.com. Shox.com wanted too much to ship the eibachs. It was really strange. Anyways, the vendor in Milpitas that Robby and Alan Fanning got their Tokicos from just couldn't do it this time. All their distributors came up empty this time. Lol, I might have a little insight into that. Going to just make another post: http://www.shoforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=21;t=000775
