has anyone else ever noticed how bad our cars run w/ corroded or loose battery terminals? the atx did it tonight b/c its in need of new terminal clamps. I assume its from the surge from the electronics of the car.both of mine hiccup and miss like crazy when this happens. thought it was kind of wierd so figured id get some more opinions or thoughts. :corn:

the smaller guage wires are imperative to make the car run. most commonly, thats the source of the problem. the factory terminals are junk. i ditched mine in favor of marine terminals with compression lugs on each battery cable/wire.

Most modern cars with fully electronic ignition systems need good clean tight connections at the battery (and everywhere else) for smooth reliable operation.

Yup, one time a few months ago I thought my battery during a snow storm. I got a jump from my roommate then went to a meeting. When I went to start my car up in a parking garage, all electrical systems cut out the instant I turned the key. I called a friend to get a jump, and I peered under the hood. Jiggled the terminals and viola my lights came on. I drove around for another day or two, but once my car started crapping out at every attempt to start it I immediately headed over to Carquest and picked up some new terminals
