I have this code now, 316 and says it is for some weird thing. I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten this code and if so, what you did to fix it.

Thanks.

I would ignore it as it doesn't mean anything. Just make sure you got the right code.

You need to be more descriptive.

  • What year SHO

  • Which tests did you run. KOEO? KOER? Cylinder Balance test?

  • How did you pull the codes

  • "Who" indicated that, " 316 . . . is for some weird thing . . . . "

  • "What" was the " . . . weird thing . . . . " that was indicated?

Did you take into account the other codes that are output during each of the above tests? And most importantly, what symptoms you were noting prior to pulling the codes?

I picked a 95 ATX and looked up 316 in Alldata. I found nothing.

Sounds like an EGR code. I wouldn't worry TOO much about it. If you get anything that starts with a 1,2,5, or - God forbid - 6, then you worry. 6xx codes are transmission codes...

316 is the code, it is a 94 atx with 3.2L Code is from the KOEO. Books states that it is 'Thermactor Air System problem- inadequate air flow during hot engine low RPM.

Are you sure this isn't a Continuous Memory code? The KOEO (Key On, Engine Off) test is primarily a test of sensors and relays. The code reader should follow the KOEO codes with Continuous Memory codes . . . .

CHECK THE CODES AGAIN. You're reading the code wrong.

SHOs don't have Thermactor Systems. Those are on Mustangs and F-150s and stuff.
