Anyone build a 3.6 stroker?

Hey all,

Has anyone on here built a 3.6 stroker? I'm going to go that route on an extra motor I have but I would like to know the formula so to speak before I commit to it as to avoid any "surprises". Thanks in advance for the help!

The old SHO Shop had a 3.6 but I don't know if that was a stroker or just overbored. I'm not sure if one of those engines survived. You might want to throw this out on the v6 mailing list for some of the older guys to look at too

I'm pretty sure it was an small overbore (3.3) with a stroker crank.

JEM's car used a (partially, IIRC) sleeved block and custom, very expensive head gaskets to get to around a 94 mm bore (might have been a little higher), plus the offset ground crank to the Honda rod journal size. Deaconblue used a 92.5 or so bore, stock 3.2 head gaskets with the same sort of offset ground stock crank and had less displacement (3.4 L).

Nice, Chad I heard deaconblue ran the entire track at Gingerman in 3rd gear with that torquey 3.4.

Chad that is awesome. Are those ROH 16x8s? Here is what I remember about JEMs build. He had to sleeve two of the 6 cylinders to get it to a 95 mm bore based on sonicans of the starting 1993 3.2 block. He had a company in the Midwest remove the fire rings from a pair of 3.2 liter head gaskets as you know they only accommodate max 92.5 mm bore. Then they installed appropriate fire rings for the 95 mm bore. Although the company specialized in doing these fire ring swaps there was something about the SHO gaskets that proved extremely challenging and they would not be willing to build additional pairs. So don’t take the heads off !
