I put an aftermarket pedal cover on the brake pedal in the silver car to make heel-toe shifting a little easier. I haven't done that in the Pumpkin yet and for some reason it doesn't seem to need it.

They seem a little cheezy to me, but it's all just opinion on the looks.

Awhile back, I set up a group buy with Autovation for their custom fit pedals.

http://www.autovation.net/

I like mine but I wish I had gotten the ones with the rubber grips instead. The raised metal grips really well but I fear it won't pass inspection here in NJ. I can also see the steel pedal underneath the aluminum which looks really dumb. With the rubber inserts, I wouldn't see "through" the pedal which would look a lot nicer.

Why won't it pass inspection? They check the pedals???

Nice avatar, Jack Bauer.

Yeah-in NJ, the pedals must have rubber on them. I failed years ago for not having a pad on my parking brake pedal. I didn't think anything of the autovation pedals until a friend of mine told me that his Jetta won't pass because he has Momo pedals (similar to our autovations). I then looked more closely at OEM racing style pedals (350Z, EVO, etc) and they do have rubber inserts in them. So, I could be wrong but I have a hunch that I won't pass with them as they are now.

im using redline racing pedals. you have to remove the old rubber pedal the new ones fit better and then for the gas pedal you have to take the stocker off and screw the new one to it and then put it back on. heres a pic.

How did you remove the stock gas pedal? If I'm reading this correctly, you reattached the pedal/pad after removing it?

yeah i removed the stocker because i didnt like how the racing pedal bolted over the stocker it was really loose and sloppy. there is a pin on the side of the pedal that holds them together. knock out that pin and then the pedal comes out line up the new pedal drill the holes you need screw it together and put the pedal back hammer the pin in and your all done.

Thanks guys. :)

IIRC, the radio wires were no problem, it was the connections for the EATC that took a bit of pulling to get to reach. No need to remove the dash, though if there were, I believe I would've passed on doing the swap. :nut:

inverse1216: I forget what brand they are but they do look alot like yours...............sans the third pedal. :thumb:
