One of my metal lines that goes from somewhere under the engine to the left side of the heater core is leaking. I want to replace it but it is discontinued by Ford. Does anyone know where I can find this part or will I have to fabricate something of my own?

Thanks

If the rubber hose on either end is leaking rather than the metal portion, remove the line, cut off the rubber section(s) and its metal crimp and install a new heater hose cut to the proper length on the metal tube. Use a real hose clamp to attach it to the tube. You may have to be really creative to get the whole tubing section out of the car.

If you need to reproduce the metal lines copper and brass pipe fittings would work.

The metal part is what's leaking. I'll probably end up soldering some copper fittings together. The only problem is the sensor that is in the line. I don't know how I would be able to fabricate the bung for the sensor, except for cutting that portion out and reusing it, but that just kinda defeats the purpose of replacing the line.

Any ideaS?

Thats funny I just got a set of those metal lines back in May the stealer ordered them from the US. Took 2 days and they were here in Ontario.

That sensor, the CELO, is just regular 1/2" pipe thread and isn't really a critical sensor. It just keeps your heater fan from going into high mode when in auto and the coolant is cold.

If it were me and I couldn't get the part I would use soft copper and compression fittings.

I know this is an OLD topic, but it covers the exact problem I have run into on a friend of mine's SHO. This metal hose with the CELO sensor is leaking.

Would anyone happen to have the part number for this hose? I should probably replace the other one when I'm in there, so if anyone has both part numbers, that would be really great!

On another note, has anyone had the CELO sensor go bad? My blower motor maxes out when I start up the car in the morning, and it just blows cold air. It would be kind of nice to get this working again so I can be lazy and not mess with the fan speed. wink

Before ordering the sensor, I should probably check to see if it's plugged in - I have found a lot wires and fasteners on my car misplaced, unplugged, or dangling from when the car was serviced at the Ford dealer by the previous owner.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot! Now I just hope my dealer can find them even though they are obsolete. They've been good at finding the impossible for me in the past...
