I just saw where 465,000 Taurus, Fusion, Explorer, Flex, Interceptor, Police Utility and Lincoln MKS, MKZ, MKT vehicles are being recalled for possible fuel tank leaks. All are 2013 model year.

Yeah, I haven't noticed fuel smell. Burning smell sometimes when i first got it, but I attributed that to it being new and has since resolved itself. I really wish I could stop going to the dealership every 2 weeks for this car lol.

How about yourself?

So far the only thing I've had to take it in for is a trunk support strut that just quit last weekend. I noticed some condensation in the taillights this winter, but will wait until next winter to have them looked at.

What kind of issues have you been having?

No fuel smells here, but I do plan on letting the dealership perform the TSB at my first service.

Lets see

Repairs caused by malfunction
- Windshield stress crack. Covered
- Faulty O2 sensor or something along those lines. Covered.
- Sync system infotainment replaced (no video or audio). Covered.

Repairs caused by theft and assault
- Wheels stolen once, left on bricks. They broke driverside rear window to get wheel lock key. Scratched the leather seats. 10k repair
- Wheels attempted stolen a second time. Broke the window again, ****** the interior again (scratched leather and what not). 5k repair.
- Victim of vehicle assault where (I can only assume) someone was jealous and proceeded to side swipe me 4 times and then flee the scene. 5k repair.

I bought it in October 2012, had it for a month, was in shop for a month, had it for another month, in shop for month, had it for 2 months, was in shop for 2 weeks. And now I've got another recall. I'm at the point where I really just want to sell this car and get a beater because its not worth trying to have and keep nice things in Metro Detroit.

tldr; **** Detroit and the really ****** people who live here.

I saw that same press release... I have a 2013 Explorer Sport and a 2013 Interceptor Sedan... no recall notices yet for either so far.

There will be a recall on fuel pumps, there is a problem with the ******* breaking off and leaking fuel. I started at Ford as a tech a couple of weeks ago and this is the talk around the shop.

I was just in the dealership yesterday to replace my bad trunk strut and the service writer said they likely won't have the recall parts available until September. He said to wait until we get the info in the mail to setup an appointment.

Only fuel smell I get so far is on initial start up... After that clean burn. I am told you will really smell fuel, and see leaks. So far its just possibility... which is enough to warrant recall, since it dealing with fuel.

Of course the ETA of recall parts availability happens to be during convention time.. LOL figures...Still going and taking car unless she is grounded.

Rumor has it that they will loan you a Jeep Grand Cherokee from around 2000 when you take it in for fuel leak repairs! OMG!!!!!

I heard they are giving out 1998 Explorers with Firestone tires and cruise control switches that ignite the brake fluid while parked. Might be just a rumor though.:munch:

I received a recall notice on my 2012 Limited for possible fuel leak/bad weld about a month ago.

I was supposed to pick up my car and it is now on hold due to this recall. :(

This is not how I wanted to start off with my new car....

I talked to my dealer a couple of weeks ago, my VIN is on the recall list but the ones who get the fuel leak or fuel odor in the cabin are the priority for recall.
