i have a 90 taurus SHO.. the first year an anti lock brake system was introduced.. well.. for the first time today.. i slammed on my brakes because of a stop sign i did not see.. as a result.. all 4 wheels locked up.. thankfully i was able to stop at the stop sign with no problems.. however.. i have come to the conclusion that my abs module is shot.. i did a few more runs and stomed on the brakes in a giant parking lot (i can kick the back end of the SHO out) and my abs did not work a single time.. my wheels were being locked up by the brakes.. however.. i was able to pump the brakes myself with out any problems.. ive located the abs module in my engine bay.. and i was wondering what i have to do to remove the entire abs system from the SHO.. i see the module in the engine bay, but is there something on the actual calipers itself?? wires or anything like that.. i know for a fact that i wont have any money to replace my ABS system.. and it does not matter to me anyway.. since it doesnt work.. i'd like it off my car.. can anybody give me any pointers?

There are wheel speed sensor on all 4 wheels. You may want to take it out its not hurting any thing if its not working but if you take it out you may have to deal with the light, and thats not fun at night(its bright). Try testing the system on a road with loose media (ie. gravel, wet maybe turning). I did see were you said you got the back end to slide around on you but one thing about ABS is it looks for one or more wheels that are not turning at the same speed and that activates the system. ABS can be defeated several ways the most obvious is pumping the brakes. When you turn the car on does the ABS light come on, this indicate that the computer is running it self diagnostic test. If it is not the system may just not have power.
