another rwd swap question

Before anyone starts in on me I have been looking around and searched for a while now and I recall that somewhere I saw that someone was running a show without the crossover on the back of the intake. Where the DIS is mounted. Dose anyone know if there is any issues with doing this?

Also, I have seen that people have talked about doing a dry sump with these 3.0/3.2 engines. Has anyone finished this mod? And pros and cons of doing this.

I only ask because I am running into room/fitment issues. The SHO is a big engine but I can't pass on putting this beauty in my truck.

As long as the DIS is grounded properly, and preferably mounted on some kind of heat sink, it should work fine.

That is correct. I moved The Other Woman's DIS to a small aluminum plate in a large box behind the passenger seat. I ground the mounting "flat" off the crossover tube, welded up the pour plug hole and then had it all polished, of course. I cut the welding rod out of pieces that I cut off the mounting boss so that the filled in hole would polish to the same luster.

You only need to keep the DIS's backplane as cool as ambient temps and that's what the crossover does. Engine compartment temps wont soak away enough heat from the electronic components of the DIS.

Well thanks guys but my project has taken a turn for the worse. I need to have the block bored and I am in need of main bearings. Unfortunately, it looks like I am off to another project. Plus side is I have parts for sale.

main bearings not a big problem to replace there is toyota bearings which is match to sho crankshaft

Probably just easier to get another shortblock than changing bearings and boring.

I'm assuming the cylinders are beyond honing?
