Currently own a 2001 Lightning, a 1990 Sable GS, and a 1952 Willys CJ-3A.

Currently a member of the Arizona Lightning Owners Club http://www.azloc.com and the SVTOA Club http://www.svtoa.com.

I have been contemplating replacing the motor in my Sable with a SHO motor and was wondering what a pain in the ass I will be faced with in doing so.

Thanks Guys

not worth it. You would need the motor, trans, subframe, ecu, etc.....You'd be MUCH better off just going out and buying a SHO. You can find them cheap if you have the patience to wait for a good deal.

Welcome in , and its definatly worth it.

I have done ATX-MTX conversions and now im putting my 94 modded engine in a 2002. Gotta love the out-of-the-box-stuff.

Go for it.

It's doable. Biggest pain would be the wiring I imagine. Get yourself a GenII SHO donor and drop and swap the subframe with the motor and tranny if you want to stay with automatic.
