Beat old taurus laying around, waiting for track season.

Interesting tid bit. The SHOs IAC, and TPS, are exact bolt-ons to the Cobra TB.

Pics of the intake thus far.

Metal prepped and ready to be welded

With so many types of welding out there it can be confusing:
MIG
TIG
Arc

So I figure this would be the most entertaining.

Bet that you thought I was kidding. ;)

Note: This car will probably never see a drag strip as it's being built for track use only

But the intent of this is to show others how to boost and old beater using easily available tools/shops. More to come soon.

good luck holding together a boosted IM with jb-weld. It's a good project for sure. I'd just rather do it right the first time and know that it'll hold up under load.

Hit it with a hammer, if it breaks then your really going have to get it welded. If not, hope that thing flys.:salute:

Look at it this way, if I can't drive my WRX safely over it I won't use it. as it stands though I have no doubts about it not holding up.

Actaully, I have access to a welder. I just wanted to try this for ***** & giggles. I wanted to challenge myself, and see if this was possible with having no access to specialized tools. As it is I'm using 1/4 inch plate steel which is vastly overkill. And not that great for weight/cooling.

Much in the way I took a saw-z-all to the snakes so I have a place to bolt it to. :)

Oh, It'll work allright. The low end grunt you'll get from that blower will amaze you. Make sure that you grind some roughness into the steel wherever you plan on using the JB weld, since JB weld is a physical and not chemical bond. Nice project.

Great Job! It's nice to recieve some positive feedback from the forum for something new. Usually all you get is slammed from members left and right. P.S. Everyone should have JB Weld on hand. It goes right next to the duct tape.!

Yeah I was quite confused too. But :thumb: to the positive comments, looks like I'll post the whole how to later one once it's running.

jb weld is good for steel on aluminum, I have a jb-welded O-ring ****** on my TB for a quick disconnect.

looks like a neat project! post more details on your plans for a fuel system and driveline/traction too!

I think it goes without saying, that the entire SHO community would love to see those!

Nice idea for a project. One of those "I'm just gonna ram this home and see what the **** happens to the POS". :thumb:
