Over the past year I have been to busy to keep up with this forum so I've lost track if their are any locals on this forum who are not in the Alberta SHO club.
I would like to extend this invite to any SHO owner who is willing to make the drive, last year we had a guy drive up from Montana, but this year we would really like to see more people from Manitoba, Sask, BC, Montana etc. Last year we had 17 SHO's and this year I would expect more than 25. Please email us at [email protected], or visit our forum at albertashoclub.ca

Hello,
It's that time where we start to plan and prepare for our third annual Alberta SHO Club BBQ. With all the new members that have been contacting us lately, this years should be bigger and better than ever before. Since our last BBQ we have been getting a lot of new members from the southern half of the province, so this year we would like to hold it at a neutral site that will hopefully encourage many new faces to show up, while still making it easy for the regulars from the Edmonton area to meet each other again. There has been a consensus from users on our forum that a location around Red Deer would be suitable.
The exact location has not been determined yet, but it will have all the amenities we need. I will also look into renting a large tent(s) since so many people put so much effort into attending this, and last year was a very close call with the weather.
Now here is where we need your help, please get back to us with what date will work better for you or if you are indifferent. Because we have always had success holding it on Sundays that will not change, so the choices are:
Sunday, June 19
Sunday, June 26
In addition to choosing a venue that is easier for everybody to get too, we will put up notices end extend invites to other SHO owners beyond Alberta. I strongly believe that attendance will easily pass last year's 17 SHO's, and 25-30 is a possibility for this year.
We still have to work out the food situation. We could go with the BBQ again, or we could always try something new like a potluck.
I will also make an attempt to make it more of a full afternoon event. I'm not sure exactly what this might include, but some ideas could be a nice cruise, mini golf, go carts, or we could bring croquet sets, bocce balls, etc.
An idea some of you may be interested in is driving to the location in caravans. Not only is it a safer, but driving in a long line of SHO's is a pretty cool experience.
I strongly encourage you to try to make it. Many people only make it to this one event every year and there are always many new faces.
Please check out the discussion on our forum, http://nelson.macd.ca/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=341 if you want to suggest something or have any comments. Or as always send us an email. The more people who get back to us with ideas and dates the more fun it will be for everybody.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Trufyn
