Another great get together. Decided to take one of the Bondurants down to the corner car wash and since it wasn't exactly street legal, asked Mikey (F-22Raptor SHO) to tail me in my 91 down there and back. Well wouldn't you know it, we end up next to each other at a stop sign. I jump the gun on him and he still kills me. Damn slushboxes!

No sooner do I get into 3rd gear and I get this terrible vibration. I hit the brakes to slow down and the right front tire locks up solid, sending my antilock brakes into a tizzy. Get it stopped and off the road and find out one of the PBR bracket bolts had come off and allowed the caliper to pivot on the remaining bolt outward towards the slicer. Damn, that could have been a nasty ending.

No problem; sent my shop biotch Mikey to go find another bolt back at the shop.

Lesson learned: tighten up all bolts on a regular basis. And don't race other SHO's. Okay, one out of two lessons learned aint bad.

We did get a lot of SHO's worked on, and that's the important part. Ended up with a nice bonfire with hot dogs, chips, potato salad and BEER!

Thanks much, Tom, for another well-hosted event. The fire and gourmet hot-dog feast was an excellent end to the day.

We think we even sorted out Rav's clunk, although the full solution will take another meeting.

It was great to see everybody again. Thanks, Robert, for the new stickers.

Haha, Mike is Toms shop BIOTCH! :laugh_ti: That's great.

More importantly, my car is fixed! I just need to do some minor corrections and align it. It handles on rails compared to my maxima, and it just keeps pulling until I decide when I want to let off due to the rotational tire that is on backwards. :nut: Atleast we found a good one. I also discovered that my front brake pads have about 1-2 mm of material left on them. Good to know. I need new tires too... Figures all this happends around Christmas time.

Eric, thank you very much for taking care of the wheel bearing for me. Also for airing up that new tire. :snicker: :p

Thanks for the hospitality Tom, as always. This meet I actually got to work on my sho! I'm pumped, and reminded of which of my cars I like better...most of the time.

Absolutely great. Many thanks to Tom for putting up with us always and allowing us to take over his garage, tools, yard, etc.

Eric many thanks for taking the time and spending the effort on helping me change the strut. I actually learned something and I think we're pretty confident that the struts are the problem and changing the left rear should completely sort out the problem. Hopefully I haven't put you off helping me out next time.

Nik, thanks for wiring open the secondaries. Yep I agree with you I would much rather have them open all the time rather than closed all the time.

Joe, it was cool to see you driving the sho again.

Robert, Austin and family.. cool to see you.

Dean, good to see you too. Cool story about the starter motor.

Mike, enjoyed the 'banter' and the unPCness.

Thanks again to everyone and see you soon.

Rav.

I'm glad that tire didn't 'splode. That would have put an exclamation point on the end of the day. :shakehead

Also, it occured to me afterward that one issue with old hubs is when the inside tapers from wear. That would explain why the inside race was a little loose. It'll probably be fine, but you might want to check it from time to time. Tom and I looked for another hub since yours was a little rough but there wasn't anything loose to substitute.

Yea, we are a bunch of racists here in the az club...seeing as how we are always racing each other.

Sometimes with some wild results.
