Hello everyone,

I recently came into acquisition of a 2015 Ford Taurus SHO, there is an AMP'd throttle booster hooked into this car. I feel that its elimination of the "dead pedal" is a great idea. It is very responsive. I was told there are three settings on this and it was 50 percent on level one, 100 percent on level two, and 400 percent on level 3. That didnt seem right so I looked it up and saw it was 25% Level 1, 50% Level 2, 100% Level 3, on an actual performance site. I was at the dealership and they told me this and they told me they would remove it if I wanted them to. Is it worth while to keep, will there be long term effects/problems and also what is the performance aspect on these for the percentages I listed, all while someone added a cold air intake to it. From what I listed below, the amp'd control looks exactly like what is in this picture.

I wouldnt use it. Just get a tune. AJP is the best imo and is very close to you. I can get you contact info for him directly if you want. He offers some good deals now that no other tuner can beat.

That was a picture taken from an image online that I grabbed. The only thing I was getting at was the amp'd selector button is what I had mounted under my steering column on the dash.

This came with the car and Im not looking at tuning it at least not yet so what I am really asking is is it worth it to keep or just take out. Any benefits to having it I guess. I did some research but am looking for others opinions.

I've had a TROS Booster on my Genesis Coupe for the last 5 years. Really wakes up the car and it's a must. Even fully tuned with a 1:1 Throttle it can't compare to. +30 levels but I only use two.....

Pointless mod unless you have an ankle disability or something
Depends on how good the factory programming is for the ETC.

These modules are the same as the OE user sport settings some cars have. My Gen Coupe was terrible and it absolutely woke the car up on it's own.

It does lot more than what your ankle can do. Hook up a scanner and watch the absolute throttle position numbers.

These things provide no actual performance gain. All they're doing is "pushing" your accelerator pedal down farther for you so you don't have to be bothered. WOT is still WOT, you just get there with less calf muscle and the "benefit" of jerkier cruising.

OE sport modes actually serve a purpose beyond this, such as altering upshift/downshift patterns, adjusting shift pressures, altering AWD response, etc.

It takes no more than 170 milliseconds to go from 0% to 100% pedal. Last time I checked I have somewhere between 300 and 400 data logs on my car... so yeah I absolutely know it doesn't do anything my ankle can't.

p.s. on the SHO it only takes 55% pedal to reach maximum driver torque demand anyway
