Long story short... I have a 94mtx, a set of front Koni's, and a ground control coilover kit. Because Koni rears are impossible to get, i tried, what options do i have?

I would like to have the coilovers all the way around. From what little i have read on the autocross threads, handling setup is best with Konis set to soft in the rear and stiff in the front. So is there a way i could install the rear coilovers on a stock strut and still be good?

let me know what you think.

No you can only do Konis. I have talked with a few people who have tried other struts and all have failed. The GC are designed for Konis.

If you can find an old set of Koni's, you can pay to have them rebuilt.

As far as the set up....I had always heard that you want the oppisite. Softer in front and more rigid in the rear. This helps reduce the natural understeer characteristics of the car. Though I have not used coilovers, so maybe it is different with those.

Nope, you are exactly right. My old autocross car ran a 500lb front spring and a 430lb rear spring for the longest time and it worked great. The current owner has upped the rear spring rate to 500lbs and the car has responded GREAT. However that is as far as he can go. The koni's in the rear at least, are at the very ragged edge on what they can handle. Right now Terry, is looking in to running a Koni Race shock or having the current ones re-valved. We'll see what happens.

With that being said, with a healthy set of Koni's, the GC setup has proven
to work great.

How do the ShoSource coilovers feel compared to the GC set up? I am aware there were a few installation kinks that needed to be worked out, but as far as performance. I know it may be hard to compare since your autoX sho was lightened alot and had all the other suspension goodies too.

The shosource coilovers ride beautifully compared to the gc units. The shocks in the ss units are just valved way better then the lonis and can handle more spring if chose to do so.
