SHOtimer (Doug) just installed a set of aluminum subframe bushings on my 90, and my God!!! The difference was noticeable just backing out of his driveway. These are definately a must have. They have restored lost power, firmed up shifts (cable shifter), and stiffened up the front end so much there is hardly any push.

These are WELL worth the money, and thanks again Doug for the install! :hail:

I'm getting my alsfb installed hopefully this week along with some subframe connecters from BittersweetSHO. That should really stiffen things up. I need struts though! Can you say pogo.

I'm also getting an extra intake manifold, valve covers, red wire loom, and red silicone vaccum hoses. Can't wait! :thumb:

If you're doing them yourself, they can be tricky little ********!! Beware the rears  :cuss:

Indeed. Well, they can just be a tight fit. Well David, those are going to be very secure.

I don't intend on hijacking this thread, but its in relation to the ALSFB's and a question regarding them. I plan on ordering the Cup Style through SHOnut and they suggest getting 2 recall kits with the new bushings. I had the recall performed in 1999 on my car, and was wondering if this recall kit they sell is any different than the Ford one done in 1999 and whether or not I should in fact purchase them when I get the SFB's ordered. Thanks for your input.

if the recall was indeed performed, then you do not need the recall kits.

If you are uncertain if the recall was performed, pull up the carpet and pad on either sides of the front of the cabin. Take a look at the floorboards from the inside, right above the rear subframe bushings. There should be large holes (as in 2 1/2 inches in diameter) with rubber plugs in them.

All the recall consists of is new bolts, two large washers, and two nuts with 'wings' or 'ears' on them. The large washers are not needed when using ALSFbs

No problemo.

I happened to pick up my Titanium with records showing that the recall had indeed been done. Guess what? NOT DONE.

Good job Ford.

So I took it in, record in hand. Grabbed a technition, told him what was up. he didnt beleive me, obviously. Until he pulled back the carpet

So I had it done, without record (because officially it HAD been done already) right there, that day.

Yeah, everytime I go to the dealer people look at me weird as they don't know anything about the cars. Theres maybe been 2 guys out of 10 or 11 dealerships that have the faintest idea of what I ask or speak of when I hit them up. Better off asking here, gaining some knowledge of the situation, then heading up there and telling them precisely what I need and what needs to be done. takes the guess work out of it as well as saves me on labor if I need to have it done there.

I just want to say I love my aluminum subframe bushings with the aluminum subframe connecters. The steering is so much better and more direct. The chassis stays together when you turn, it doesn't flex.

Chris from BittersweetSHO did an awesome job with the work. :salute:
