So I finished the installation of my add-on alarm system for factory keyless entry. Everything went well and works properly...sort of. What I didn't realize was that the wires that I used to activate and deactivate the alarm are the wires that control the door lock mechanisms - meaning you can break the window and unlock the doors, disarming the alarm. I have two questions for y'all:

1. What wire did you use persoanlly for the arm/disarm of the alarm when you installed your alarm system?

2. I was thinking of using one of the imputs from the keyless entry module itself to trip the alarm instead of the door lock/unlock wires. According to the wiring diagram, it's somewhere near the trunk. How would I get to that and is it theoretically possible?

Thanks for all the help!

well first of all... have you ever tried your first theory? Roll the window down, or sit inside the car for that matter, and arm the alarm, wait till it activates, then hit the unlock button on the door? From my knowledge, the "brain box" needs to get the varifing signal from your keyfab to successfully disarm the system. Most alarms that I know of have a voltage drop sensor or amperage drop sensor, so if power is being used it will trip the alarm. Basically if the state the alarm is in changes without the keyfab telling it to change the alarm should sound.

answer questions time

1. your alarm seems to be a combo of an alarm and a keyless entry. This is how most work, unless you get the cool one with the picture of your car on it, and they talk back and fourth to each other. but anyways, what do you mean exactly... "1. What wire did you use persoanlly for the arm/disarm of the alarm when you installed your alarm system?" which one did you hook it to... like in your case the door locks? this is exactly where it goes. arm the car, and it's also locked, disarm and it unlocks.

2. this technically should work, that input is used mainly for cars that already have keyless entry on them ( I think, it depends on what the input tirggers), so as when you hit lock or unlock, the alarm dosen't sound.

If you have anymore questions I will try to answer them just PM me
