Air Bag Code Issues - '93

I have two issues re: air bag codes (light flashing).

One is a 5 - 1 code. I did a search here and came up with:

51 Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse - Fuse Blown Due to
Intermittent Short to Ground

I just had the heater core and blendoor actuator replaced at a local shop, so of course the instrument panel was out. Can anyone here tell me where this Diag. Monitor is and where the Internal Thermal Fuse might be? I can probably locate the fuse once I find the monitor.

The second is that sometimes after a new rain (when it's been dry for 3-4 days) I get a 2 - 4 code, which I found out here is:

24 Safing Sensor Output Feed/Return Circuit Open

Where is the "Safing Sensor?" and, stupid question, what is meant by "open?"

Open circuit means that there's something disconnected.

Pull the glove box down and look up to your right and you will see a blue box with two connectors attached. That's the diagnostic monitor, the thermal fuse is inside the monitor and I don't believe it is repairable. The safing sensor is located behind the left hand cowl. I would start with the diagnistic monitor first before chasing down any other codes. However if the 24 code comes up when it rains the sensor is probably getting wet. Until you find the short I wouldn't replace the monitor you will just blow the thermal fuse again.
