ok, this is kindaof a hard one, i cant figure it out and i dont really want to spend money for circuit city to look at it. i have a sony cd player, mtx amp and mtx subs. my friend has the same subs and same cd player just a different amp. his subs hit crisp and deep and mine seem to hit with a baffle and sound like bottoming out. i used to have a different amp with different subs and it did the same thing. everything is wired up correctly, ive checked and rechecked and had others check. i use rca cables to get the signal to the amp and they are on the other side of the power wire. everything is wired up seperate from the stock system, i even ran new speaker wires to all the speakers (which work fine) I did that because when i bought the car someone had cut all the wiore on the stock amps in the trunk. i just cant figure out why these subs dont work up to their potential, i have fiddled with all the amp controls to no avail so i am lost. if anyone has any suggestions it would help :)

Your subs may be what is called out of phaze. If you have a warranty they should be covered. You should be able to take them back to where you got them and have them checked out and fixed. Even if they aren't on warranty find out how much it is to have them tested and try that. It happened to my friends subs. Good Luck.
