My Pioneer DEH 225 (old but still sounds great) has 12 wires on the back, 8 for speakers, R,Y,Bk for ignition, power, and ground. The 12th wire is blue with a white stripe. I hooked this to the blue amp-on wire on my factory harness. Amp works fine, sounds great. However, I have no more wires left for the power antenna.

Can I splice both the amp-on wire and the antenna wire to the same BL/W connection on the head unit without the smoke and crackle thing happening? Will my antenna behave correctly, are there separate circuits for up and down?

All I can say is that I had a similiar problem.
When I connected the wires, like you said, everything worked well.
Good luck.

You should be able to connect both the antenna and the amp power to the same wire (when installing an amp, they usually recommend splicing into the power antenna wire for a power-on wire).
The antenna is a stand alone system that is simply triggered by the wire that you are talking about.
Hook 'em up- you should be good to go! lol

Just like everyone says ........ Hook those wires together and your good to go. thumb

FYI ~ Seeing this is not a factory related question, this topic is being moved to ~ SHO Generation I & II Performance Upgrades - Electronics & Audio
