i have a pretty bad ****** gasket between the resonator and downpipe. whre the spring bolts are. when the car is put in gear it sounds like theres a hole in the exhaust. My question is are there any aftermarket parts available for that. ford dealers in my area don't seem to have these parts and an aftermarket would sure be great. also I probably need exhaust manifold studs.

NAPA has a spring bolt/****** repair kit. But if the pipe is ate away it won't do much good. Try putting shorter non-shouldered bolts in and tighten it up to the MAX. Otherwise get a flex pipe and ****** from JC Jipme or FleaBay.

I dunno if it makes a difference as I have an ATX, but for the studs I bought a "Ford exhaust manifold kit" from the HELP products rack at Advance Auto Parts. I think it's meant to replace the mounting hardware for the manifold on either side of a 5.0, but the four studs match the thread pitch perfectly and they're plenty long (the kit includes three long and one medium stud, but they're all long enough). The kit is 11 dollars, and it could save you the headache of ordering stuff.

Hope this helps...but remember I have an ATX. I don't think the manifolds are different though...everything after is. :)

Bring it to an exhaust shop, it's called a doughnut gasket. My 90's was like yours it costed me $30 to get it fixed at exhaust pro's. They just put on a new doughtnut gasket and bolts :thumb:

This is an ATX or a MTX. Well maybe all you may need is a new dough nut gasket and new nuts, bolts and springs If MTX. Or Maybe just a flat gasket and new nuts and bolts if an ATX. Either way if the pipe is not rotten its not a real hard fix.

$30 don't break my bank. Plus I was heading to ozzfest that day and needed it done asap and the guy had the parts on hand :)
