How much movment do you get from the pad of the clutch pedal before it clicks into the next segment. Is it about an Inch or what? I am talking how far you have to pull the pedal up when you are adjusting it.

You just pull it up against the built-in stop. It automatically retensions itself, whether it clicks or not. If it clicks it just means it was out of adjustment beforehand.

Well I asked because when i pull it up it goes about an inch but doesnt click and readjust. Just wanted to know if its broke or if its not far enough out of adjustment to click.

There is a quick way to check if the self adjuster is working or not. Have someone lift the clutch pedal up and hold it. While it's up go pull the clutch release arm (where the end of the clutch cable connects) and pull it toward the front of the car an inch or so. Have the person helping you release the upwards tension on the clutch pedal while you are still holding the release arm an inch forward. You then can let go of the release arm and it will stay in that position if the adjuster isn't stripped, and you'll notice that the cable is loose. Go back and lift up on the clutch cable to take up the slack and you'll hear the adjuster click to the right spot.

You will know if your self adjuster is broken. On my old red 92, it was so whenever I would kick up the clutch (which I only did once) the petal would not click and retighten. It would be completely loose and you couldn't shift gears at all. Then everytime after that I would have to adjust it manually.
