Adding Remote Keyless Entry to 94

i just got a free remote keyless entry module from a 94 taurus SE and was wondering if i can put it into my 94 sho? from what it says on my searches i need to get the wiring harness from some car that does have remote keyless entry, and the antenna, the little black box i have has 3 wiring harnesses and one antenna lead. wheres the antenna go to? does the wiring harnesses just plug into all the factory door lock wiring harnesses and whatnot, or do i have to splice into them?

i do know of one of the cars (94 taurus LX) at a local junkyard that has keyless entry(idk if its RKE, but it has the number pad on drivers door, if it has the antenna plug in the black box it is RKE right?), how hard would it be to pull the wiring harness and antenna from that?

Look for Gil around here. IIRC he put a remote in one of his SHO's and has answered questions about it before. I think Adam Varney was working on it at some point too.

would this gil that i see talked about so much be gil with the forum name of GIL Shoemaker?

That's the Gil. Like I said, if you search back in the archives I know there was a thread or maybe two where he addressed this at one point.

i did that search....and it came up with loose ends.........maybe i need to read harder?

but from what i understand all i need is to get wiring diagrams, the (3) wiring harnesses, and the antenna and splice it into my stock wiring?

It's a major undertaking to install the factory keyless entry into a non-equipped car. A stand alone aftermarket keyless entry is like $10, if all you want is a key fob to pop the doors.

theres 2 people (1 has done more keyless entry systems than he can remember), a sho that prob wont be driven for a 1 week or so, and some time...... all u gotta do is run the wires and antenna, and splice into the stock wiring and reset the system according to him. i talked to him for aobut 2 hours about it last night.......we even took off door panels and whatnot to check the wiring.

i think we have it figured out, so all i need is those harnesses, and i think ill be getting the harnesses from 95SHOdude's 1995 sho hes parting, so hope me the best of luck.

for you that do have ford remote keyless entry on your sho, when you unlock/lock ur car does it do the beep beep thing, or do the lights just flash?

cuz my dads 99 cougar beeps and flashes, and my moms 2003 escape just flashes the lights.
