Add relay to Cigarette Lighter

I wanted to add a relay to the cigarette lighter so that it would only come on when the ignition was turned on. i plan on using the ignition trigger wire that goes into the stereo. what is the easiest way to access the cigarette lighter's wiring? i pulled out my stereo and found a divider blocking my access to it. i have a gen 2

Is there a specific reason for this? You could route a different power wire or just install a discrete switch along the constant power wire.

Recieved a pair of heated seat covers for the winter as a christmas present, too lazy to constantly turn the on and off lol

I wouldn't mess with it for that. I'd just wire it in with a switch.

for all the times ive started a car to warm it up and forgot the defroster in the process, id probably make my heated seat covers automatic too. lol
