What is the best way to get to the bottom of the AC compressor? I have to replace a suction line that connectes to the bottom of the Compressor. The female end connects to the end of the AC Accumulator line. When I replace the AC accumulator line, I didn't ensure a proper seal. I didn't hear the line snap in. I charged the system. Ran great for three days. Then one day the pressure blew the line out of the ac acumulator and bent the female line.

Good luck on finding that part, as it is discontinued. If you can't find it I know of some new ones around but they arn't cheap. After just servicing my system I did all the manifold lines with the alternator and radiator out. But, that is on an ATX, not sure which you have. But, that hose is connected to the compressor on the side facing the radiator, so you'll just have to look and see what you will need to remove in order to get to it. IIRC that is the lower manifold on - lower on the compressor that is.

A-Z sells everything you need for the A/C work. compressor/clutch, accumulator with hose, hose assembly (orifice tube), condensor, evaporator

on topic, best way to get to it...remove the accumulator.

I actually found the part I need at a salvage yard in excellent shape. I think I will just have my mechanic do this job for me. It seems a bit complicated. :bonk:

if youre referring to the accumulator, youll regret installing a used one instead of new. they are very delicate against the open atmosphere.
