Is the ac airflow in the seats supposed to be evenly distributed along the seat back? It seems to be mostly at the join between the seat back and seat pan. Seems like it should be coming out all over the seat back.

Thanks!

Have you changed your filters?

Brand new car, so I thought of that but figured that wouldn't be the answer. Do they tend to mess up installing the filters?

No filter, just a perforated plastic cover.

On my '14 the seat would stay nice and chilled to upper back Lower shoulders for me. It should go higher than just lower back.

Man, may have to look at mine now because I swear all I ever felt was just the lower seat cushion getting cold

My 2013 cools down pretty quickly under my butt, but takes a while before the lumbar and back start to cool down. Brand new filters.

mine only cools my butt. I don't feel anything from upper seat
What year? Maybe they made or change? I had a '13 MKS that chilled down the back as well as the seat, just took a little longer.

Amazing we are talking about ac seats! I thought it was just a gimmick, but nothing better when you have a day of 3 hours down, 3 hours back for a meeting - keeps everything comfortable.

I've got a 14 and I've never felt it. I'm about to go check it out now just to appease my curiosity and for reference I have the actual filters and still look brand new.

i used mine today was almost 95 degrees today and it almost took about 15 minutes to fully get the butt area cold and then the back started to cool down. i feel like the seats for the cool down function will take a while for them to cool down unlike the heated seats function. 15' btw

The Thermal Electric Device (TED) that does the heating and cooling can only remove 14 degrees Fahrenheit from ambient temperature. So if it's 80 degrees in the car (or in the seat) your going to get 66 degrees out the climate controlled seat vents. The Heating ventalactuon and Air Conditiong system will have to do some work before the seats start to feel hot or cold.

There is specific duct work though the seats to provide heated and cooled air. The TED in the backrest does not have a 100 percent positive seal o the duct work so one cooled air may be lost. Depending on how large and in charge you are can affect system performance too.

The can add around 144 degrees Fahrenheit to the air. That seems like a lot but when you take 8n consideration at 30 below it will take 30 degrees to get to 0 and then the red only has another 114 degrees in it. We as humans are about 100 degrees. That's not go8mg to feel hot. Add to this the TED is warming and cooling air that has to warm or cool the seat before you fell any affect and you can understand why it takes time to heat or cool.

A heated seat has a wire that gets hot directly under the cushion this will put it's heat directly to the seat cover and to your posterior a lot faster than heating and cooling air will that has to go through a duct that's hot or cold.
