Have you had the system evacuated yet? The 90s have the old R-12 unless it's been converted previously. You'll most likely have to take it to a shop to get that done since technically you're supposed to be certified to do that and have to have a special machine.

get out as many cutting utensils as possible... at least thats what im doing....

maybe someone else will chime in with a better plan?

No I haven't had anything done to it. I actually just bought it in June and its been just sitting there. The ac system might still be good but I just don't want the hassel of something going wrong in the future. So say I got the system evacuated......Just take out the compressor and work my way from there??

my system apparently had a hole in it.. (which i found when taking everything out)



I started by cutting all the hoses out.


then cut everything that is metal out.

Then i ripped out the ac condensor.

Then i took out the ac compress and gutted the living **** out of it. After taking the pulley off (pain in the butt) i dremeled it down so the new shorter belt would not hit it (42" belt by the way)
