Stop pulling. Start twisting.

Twist the hose WHILE forcing the tool into the spring. You'll feel it get past the spring. Keep twisting back and forth and apply a little pulling force. It should come off pretty easy.

If it won't twist before you put the tool on it, then don't bother. You'll need to work it back and forth and get it twisting before the tool will help.

Those top ones can be a bear to get off. Try gently with a pair of channel locks to twist it a little. if that doesnt help, you'll have to figure out how to get some **** in there.

LOL it'll come off easy, now...

You might want to seal that hole up so you don't have to change evaperators if you want to get the A/C fixed. If you've left enough and if your line was aluminum, you can just crimp it off and fold it over itself. Alternatively, you can plug it with something, or wrap something over it and ziptie it on.

You don't want any moisture getting into the evaporator. So if you leave the line open to the elements, you probably will have to change the evaporator to get the a/c going again in the future.
