Ok, so for the past couple of days... When I turn on the AC, I hear the first engagin of the clutch. It makes a loud clunck sound, as if it were stuck. Am I in need of a new compressor?

I have one here at my house, only thing is... it's a PAIN to get to!

Anyhow, any tips would be wonderful. Also the fan does not turn on right away when the AC is turned on. Also, AC does NOT blow cold til Im hitting some speed. Stop and go, it won't get too cold at all. When I get it going cold, it's only like 67 degrees.

Any help is good help.

When the compressor clutch enganges, it is going to make some noise. I am not sure how loud yours is, but it is a moving part. Some noise is normal. As for the temp issue, once the fans do come on, do they stay on. The fans must stay on to cool the condensor, or you will get warm air at a stand still. I also will ask if your freon is up to the proper level. When driving down the road at speed, the RPM of the motor will let the compressor cycle the freon more quickly, making it cooler.
