Make sure your terminals are clean of any oxidation, otherwise you won't trigger self test mode.

Went and bought a code reader. The blinking light just stays on solid. I've tested to see if I have ABS, and I definitely don't.

Connect Pin 23 on the ABS controller connector (T/R) to ground. If that doesn't trigger the self test routine, and your ABS fuses are all good, replacing the controller would be the next logical step.

Ok, pin connected. Do I put the connector back onto the controller, and then run? As it sits right now, the light just stays solid. I tried hooking it to the pin 23 on the controller itself, and then replugging it in, and that gave me the same solid light. I'm leaning towards a bad computer.

By the way, thanks for all your help Hamal :sun:.

Ok, so I plug everything back in, and turn on the car....no ABS light. I go driving, and sure enough, it works great. I park the car, come inside for a bit, come back after 30 minutes, turn the car on, ABS light. Shut the car off, and then back on, no ABS light.

Sorry Sean, should have been clearer.

With the connector connected to the ABS computer/ controller, ground the wire on Pin 23, it should be Tan with a Red stripe. This is the trigger wire for the self test mode. A scotch lock would suffice, or a sharp probe. Of course, tape the wire after completing troubleshooting to prevent corrosion.

Well, if the light comes on again, I'll do this at lunch time. Supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow :sun:

Light came on again. Used the volt meter probe to poke the wire, and put it to ground...light just stayed on. I believe the ABS controller is bad.

Here's another twist. If the car starts with just one turnover, no ABS light. If it starts after 2-3 turnovers, ABS light.

Seems my coolant hose had loosened and was dripping coolant onto the relay. Tightened the hose, and we shall see. If so, cheap fix ftw.

Light was off like usual this morning. Went and got some lunch, and there it was. At least coolant isn't leaking on the regulator anymore. Again, it only happens when it's warm out.

You may have some issues with the contacts in the relay and/or connectors from the coolant dripping on there. Coolant has a nasty habit of creating an electrical leak path, which changes voltage drops, etc. and can make computers crazy....

My ABS light is on all the time and I am considering taping over the thing, it is so bright.
My problems started when the controller was replaced (the thing with the motor on it) and the light has been on ever since. And it is continuous, no blinking, no flashing, no times when it is off.
All I can offer is sympathy.

So I drive to Vegas (almost 300 miles) and the light was off the entire way. Make a stop, turn the car on...no ABS light! I guess it was just a charging issue.

I drive home from Vegas without the light the entire way. So, how do you fix an ABS light? Drive 623 miles in a weekend!
